How to Oil Clipper Blades for Smoother Cutting

Blade oil is one of the simplest ways to help clippers cut smoother and protect the blade during regular use.

Clean before oiling

Brush hair from the blade first. Oil works best when it reaches the moving metal surfaces instead of sitting on top of trapped hair.

Apply a small amount

Use a few drops along the blade teeth and contact points. More oil is not always better; excess oil can attract hair and dust.

Run and wipe

Turn the clipper on for a few seconds to spread the oil, then wipe away extra oil from the blade surface before cutting or storing.

Repeat regularly

For frequent grooming, oil after cleaning and before longer storage. A consistent routine helps the blade feel smoother over time.
